The fourth reference from Iberian Juke “Nuevas Bulerías” is signed by Ria Ekin, a project that tries to combine footwork, juke, trap or RnB influences with an eclectic aesthetic, using internet as an artistic code and medium to express his creativity.
After an homonymous album for Interscape Records Limited (2013), and his appearance in both Iberian Juke compilations with “Benidorm Sexting” (Iberian Juke vol.1) and “Google Earth” (Iberian Juke & Friends), “Nuevas Bulerías” represents the first EP from Ria Ekin focused exclusively in footwork and juke sounds, blending classical sounds from this genre with flamenco vocals, using common elements to both genres, like percussive details and syncopated patterns.
Retaining a club, 90’s and Mediterranean essence while preserving a juke formality, Ria Ekin develops a clearly Hispanic rhetoric, where the flamenco-influenced melodies and colloquial forms depicts a parallel reinterpretation of the north-American endogenous culture.

Lux Familiar is by far THE most talented juke producer in Poland. Proud to call him my friend and even more proud to see the praise his new stuff gets across the board. Mark my words: this kid is going places! Alegria
